Tom Gauld is a British illustrator and comic book writer. He has contributed to The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Guardian, The Believer, and New Scientist.

'Cooking with Kafka' is the second collection of comics Tom Gauld has written for The Guardian. Mixing literature and pop culture, Gold teases the reader with caustic jokes that force a critical look at the modern world.

In 2018, the book won the Will Eisner Award for Best Humorous Comic.
