'My New York Diary' is an autobiographical collection of stories by Julie Doucet, the queen of Canadian underground comics. After graduating from art college in Montreal, she moved to New York to pursue a professional career in the American comics scene. However, a toxic relationship hindered her self-fulfillment. In her illustrated diary, Julie describes the harsh realities of her life with uncompromising candor and explores what it meant to be one of the few women in the comics scene in the 1990s.
My New York Diary won the 2000 Firecracker Award for Best Graphic Novel and was also nominated for a Harvey Award.
