Svetlana Volkova

Prose writer, translator, screenwriter. Lives and works in St. Petersburg. Author of the books *The Great Love of Olenka Dyakova*, *Artificial Head*, *Midnight in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky*, *Coauthors*, *Gentlemen and Snowmen*, *No More Hints*, *Female Fan*, *The Runaway Girl*. Her work has been published in the journals *Druzhba Narodov*, *Znamya*, *Avrora*, *Neva*, *Yunost*, *Oktyabr*, *Etazhi*, *Vremya Kultury. Petersburg*, and the almanac *Noon*. Winner of five Russian Hoffman Prize awards in the Prose category; laureate and diploma recipient of the Sergei Mikhalkov, Kuprin, Gogol, Tvardovsky, and Korolenko prizes, as well as the Russian Stil competition. Finalist for the National Prize for Adolescent Literature (2023). Gold laureate of the Korneychukov Prize for the best work for teenagers (2018), among others. Semifinalist for the 2025 Yasnaya Polyana Prize. Her works have been translated into many foreign languages.
