Alla Gorbunova

Alla Glebovna Gorbunova is a Russian poet, prose writer, and literary critic.

She graduated with honors from the Faculty of Philosophy of Saint Petersburg University. She made her debut as a poet in 2003 in the Saint Petersburg University poetry collection Therefore; her subsequent poems and prose were published in the journals Day and Night, Znamya, Kreshchatik, New Literary Review, Vozdukh, and others. Her publication in the journal Novy Mir was preceded by a foreword by Yuri Kublanovsky, and in the online journal TextOnly by Valery Shubinsky. As a critic and reviewer, she has published in the journals Critical Mass, Novy Mir, and New Literary Review.

Her poems have been translated into English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Serbian, Danish, Swedish, Finnish, Latvian, and Bulgarian. Her prose has been translated into English, Italian, Bulgarian, Serbian, Romanian, and Czech. She has participated in Russian and international poetry and prose festivals (the Paris Book Fair, “Blood of the Poet” in Latvia, “Kyiv Laurels” in Ukraine, Runokuu in Finland, the Kikinda Short Story Festival in Serbia) and has taken part in poetry readings in New York and Chicago.
