Anastasiya Chetverikova
Anastasia Chetverikova (Nastya) is a Russian writer, musicologist, cultural studies scholar, journalist, and teacher. She is a lecturer and hosts podcasts on the radio. She is the author of a book, academic works on the topics “Synergetics in Music” and “Eroticism in Musical Culture,” and lectures on art.
Anastasia Chetverikova has been studying music since the age of 2.5. She studied at Secondary School No. 1 in the settlement of Orichi and graduated in 1999. She studied musicology at the Kirov College of Arts, which she completed in 2003. She entered Vyatka State Humanitarian University, where she studied cultural studies. After graduating, she continued her studies in postgraduate school at the Faculty of History and Theory of Culture of the Russian Institute for Cultural Research, and prepared a dissertation on the topic: “Eroticism in Musical Culture: from Baroque to Jazz and Rock and Roll.”
For 10 years, Nastya Chetverikova worked as a radio host at major stations, as a journalist for the publication Batеньka, da vy transformer and the portal Classical music news.ru. Since September 2018, she has been a lecturer in art history at Moscow City University (MGPU). She is the author and host of the podcasts “Art for the Boys” and “Dark Matter” on Glagolev FM. She works at the lecture venues “Direct Speech” and “Synchronization,” and gives lecture courses for children and parents: “Art to Grow Into,” “Russian Composers and Their Music,” “Rock and Roll: Back to the Future,” and “The History of Jazz in 10 Jazz Standards.”
