Besson Filipp
Philippe Besson is a French literary critic and journalist, playwright, and screenwriter.
His father was a teacher, and his mother was a notary’s secretary. He has an older brother. In 1984, he studied at the Michel de Montaigne Preparatory School of Economics in Bordeaux, and in 1985–1987 he studied at the Higher Institute of Commerce in Rouen. In 1988–1989, he specialized in social law in Bordeaux. In 1989, he fell seriously ill with hemorrhagic fever and was treated in hospital for a long time. In 1989, he settled in Paris and began working as a lawyer and teacher of social law.
His first novel, In the Absence of Men, was published in 2001.
