This collection includes two books by Baudelaire: 'Poems in Prose' and the seminal 'Flowers of Evil,' which brought the author resounding international fame. This book, a manifesto of French Symbolism, was first published in 1857 and provoked a violent public reaction. For the poet, the scandal ended with a court fine, the book's print run was seized, and the most 'indecent' poems were removed from the collection.
