Anton Vidokle, artist and publisher of the influential e-flux magazine, has been developing a comprehensive project dedicated to Russian cosmism for several years. At the core of the project are Vidokle's films. An exhibition dedicated to them at the New Tretyakov Gallery, curated by Kirill Svetlyakov, inspired the creation of this book. Beyond his films, however, the artist's cosmist activities include publishing, educational, and organizational initiatives aimed at the collective exploration of cosmism within contemporary art. As a result, a circle of researchers, philosophers, and artists has formed who share an interest in Vidokle's work and/or Russian cosmism within the context of contemporary philosophy and art. The collection you hold in your hands is comprised of these individuals' writings. Contributors include Boris Groys, Franco 'Bifo' Berardi, Keti Chukhrov, Anastasia Gacheva, Arseniy Zhilyaev, and others. Along with the articles, the collection includes transcripts of discussions of Vidokle's films, which will be shown at the Moscow exhibition, a selection of stills from them, and 'The Arrow of Time,' an illustrated chronicle of Russian cosmism and related events in Russian and world history from the late 18th to early 21st centuries.
