Bove Klementina

Clémentine Beauvais (Clémentine Morgane Mélusine Hécate Beauvais, b. 1989) is a French writer, researcher of children’s literature, and teacher. She graduated from Cambridge and received her doctorate; she lives and works in York, in the United Kingdom, where she teaches English and pedagogy. At the same time, she writes children’s and YA books in French and English, from series for young children to serious teenage novels, sometimes in verse. Her book Piglettes received several prestigious awards in France, including the major children’s literature prize Prix Sorcières (a film adaptation and stage productions of the book are already in development). Some of her books are recommended for study in French schools by the Ministry of Education. One of her more recent acclaimed books is the YA novel Brexit, about an English girl’s attempt to enter into a marriage of convenience with a European man in order to obtain European citizenship, and about the cultural differences and connections between Britain and the continent. Clémentine also translates books into French (for example, a novel by Meg Rosoff) and her own books into English.
