Brenife Oskar
Oscar Brenifier is a UNESCO expert, director of the Paris Institute of Practical Philosophy, one of the world’s best-known specialists in child development, and a founder of the theory and practice of philosophical counseling. Brenifier is the author of more than twenty books, including the so-called “philosophy for children” series “Philozenfants,” which have been translated into many languages and have received several prestigious French awards. In 2010, the Russian publishing house Clever Books published the first two books in Brenifier’s “Simple Truths” series — “Love and Friendship” and “The Meaning of Life” — for children aged 6–9 in Russian, and in December of that same year they were presented in Moscow. The books were published by Clever. Brenifier questions the validity of the traditional education system, which consists of listening and repeating, and предлагает to stop talking only to oneself and move to dialogue. He differs from his colleagues in that he does not spend all his time in his office, but travels around the world and organizes philosophical seminars for children, adults, teachers, and even prisoners and patients in psychiatric clinics. His work is aimed at teaching adults to communicate with children, and children to understand complex philosophical questions necessary for life.
