Ekaterina Vadimovna Murashova is a Russian psychologist and writer.
Ekaterina Murashova was born on February 22, 1962, in Leningrad. She graduated twice from Leningrad State University, first from the Faculty of Biology and, almost ten years later, from the Faculty of Psychology. Murashova began writing while still in school. The main character of her first novella was a cat named Derwish, who helped Soviet geologists in the taiga and personally tore apart a couple of Basmachi rebels. This was followed by stories about school life. Her first publication was the novella Talisman in the anthology Friendship (1989).
In addition to fiction, Ekaterina Murashova has published three books on child psychology: Your Unclear Child: The Psychological Problems of Your Children (2002), Couch-Potato Children and Catastrophe Children: Hypodynamic and Hyperdynamic Syndrome (2003), and Memory — for an A! (2005).
Ekaterina Murashova is a member of the St. Petersburg Writers’ Union, but she does not consider herself a professional writer; for her, it is more of a hobby.
At present, Ekaterina Murashova is a practicing child psychologist. She is married and has two children.
