Eric Ries is an American entrepreneur, a pioneer of the “Lean Startup” movement, and a well-known blogger in the high-tech business field.

In 2001, Eric Ries graduated from Yale University with a bachelor’s degree in computer science.

As a student, Ries published the book Black Art of Java Game Programming.

Blank invested in the company on the condition that its executives take his entrepreneurship course at the University of California. The knowledge Ries gained helped him develop IMVU’s products.

As chief technical officer of IMVU, Ries wrote and supervised all of the product code. He also tested alternative versions of the product by attracting users through Google AdWords and measuring the number of downloads.
