Irina Zartayskaya
As a person, I was born in the twentieth century in Leningrad. As an author, I was born in the twenty-first century in St. Petersburg. I graduated from the Faculty of Theory and History of Art at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. At home, I work as a mother, and at the Museum of Theatre and Music Arts, I work as a research associate. I write fairy tales, stories, and novellas. Sometimes they turn out funny, sometimes sad. But always—for children and for those who are terribly reluctant to grow up. I myself remain a child at heart, despite the fact that not so long ago I lost my last baby tooth. And baby teeth, as is well known, are more valuable than any others, even the wisest. Participant in international seminars and forums of children’s writers, author of numerous magazine publications and books All Grandmothers Can Fly, Microkids. The Mystery of the Missing Robot, The Best Age (the book was broadcast on Radio Russia), I Hear, Where Does the Snow Go?, He Came to Me in a Dream, Elephant in the Museum, and Princess Thread. Laureate of the Zinziver magazine prize, winner of the all-Russian competition New Names. Book Premiere in the category “Author of the Best Novella.” The books All Grandmothers Can Fly and I Hear were included in the shortlist of the international Literary Vienna competition.
