Ivan Sablin
Historian, head of the research group at the Department of History, Heidelberg University (Germany). His scholarly interests include global and comparative history of the 19th and 20th centuries, transcultural interactions in Siberia, and Indigenous literature. Candidate of Art Studies. Author of articles on the history of St. Petersburg architecture and its ties with Western European architecture, as well as a number of publications on the methodology of art studies. Senior Research Fellow at the Russian Institute for Art History. Lecturer at the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences, St. Petersburg State University; Senior Research Fellow at the Russian Institute for Art History. Born in 1974 in Leningrad. Graduated in 1996 from the Faculty of History of St. Petersburg State University and in 1999 from the postgraduate program at the Russian Institute for Art History. Since 2000, he has taught at various educational institutions in the city. His areas of interest include Western European architecture from antiquity to the present day, the phenomenon of the classical painting, and the history of art studies.
