Khenn Karsten Sebastian
Carsten Sebastian Henn is a German writer, playwright, and journalist.
Henn was born in 1973 in Cologne, but considers Hürth to be his hometown. He graduated from secondary school in 1993 and then enrolled at the University of Cologne.
In 1996, he became the youngest author of the anthology "Young West." After receiving a master’s degree in ethnology, sociology, and geography, he studied ethnology and oenology in Australia. Until 2008, he worked in the administration of his hometown of Hürth; since then, he has focused on writing and journalism.
Carsten Sebastian Henn primarily writes crime fiction and nonfiction books on wine and cuisine. As an independent wine journalist, Henn writes for national and international magazines and serves on the jury of several wine awards. Henn has been a restaurant critic since 2013, and since 2018 he has been editor-in-chief of the wine magazine Vinum.
Henn lives in Hürth and, together with friends, cultivates a vineyard and produces his own wines. He is a member of the International Federation of Wine and Spirits Journalists and Writers and the Association of German Writers. In 2022, he co-founded the PEN Center in Berlin.
