Khervig Iogannes
Johannes Herwig was born in Leipzig-Connewitz in 1979. As a child, he knew for certain that he would become a writer, but forgot about it for several decades. After the reunification of Germany, he became interested in punk culture. He then decided to settle down and receive a higher education. He studied sociology and psychology, worked independently in the cultural sector for many years, and was a co-founder of the Phase IV cinema gallery in Dresden. In 2013, he finally devoted himself to his long-held dream: becoming a writer. For his first novel, Until the Stars Stop Trembling (published in Russia under the title The Leipzig Gang), he was nominated for the German Youth Literature Award.
