Kristian Krakht

Christian Kracht is a contemporary Swiss writer and journalist who writes in German.

He was born into the family of the head of the Axel Springer AG publishing house; he received an excellent education at private schools in Germany and the United States, and lived in Bangkok and Nepal, far from old Europe. He is currently based in Buenos Aires.

In 2001, at the invitation of the Ad Marginem publishing house, he visited Moscow and St. Petersburg. His first novel, "Faserland," was translated into Russian in 2001, and this was perhaps one of Kracht's first foreign editions.
