Quentin Tarantino
March 27, 1963, Knoxville, Tennessee, USA) — American film director, screenwriter, actor, film producer, and cinematographer whose films are characterized by nonlinear structures and the stylization of violence. He rose to worldwide prominence after the film Pulp Fiction (1994), which earned him the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, as well as the Academy Award and the Golden Globe Award for Best Screenplay. His other works include Reservoir Dogs (1992), Jackie Brown (1997), Kill Bill (in two parts, 2003–2004), Death Proof (2007), and Inglourious Basterds (2009). In 2004, he served as chairman of the jury for the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2010, Tarantino was appointed chairman of the jury of the main competition of the 67th Venice Film Festival. Quentin is also popular as an actor, thanks to the films Desperado, From Dusk Till Dawn, Destiny Turns on the Radio, Curdled, Four Rooms, and others.
