Leonid Kleyn

Leonid Josephovich Klein is a popular Russian philologist, teacher, and lecturer. He is a journalist and radio host on the Silver Rain station. A business lecturer (for Sberbank, OMK, LNMK, Otkritie, etc.) and a guest lecturer at the Skolkovo School of Management. He is the author of books about writers, poets, and their works.

In 1993, Leonid Klein graduated from the Philology Department of Moscow State Pedagogical University; for 15 years he taught literature and the Russian language in secondary school. From 2005 to 2008, he was a journalist and an employee of the Culture Department of the Polit.ru portal, and a moderator of the Open Seminars. From 2008 to 2010, he was the head of the project “Secondary Education: A Regional Aspect” at the Higher School of Economics. Since 2009, he has been a senior lecturer and deputy head of the Department of Social and Political Communications at the Institute of Public Administration and Civil Service of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA). He gives lectures and heads the student intellectual club “The Most Important Thing.”

Leonid Klein hosts an автор’s program on the Silver Rain radio station. His broadcasts, of which more than four hundred have already been aired, are devoted to historical figures, well-known personalities, literature, cartoons, and other cultural subjects. Since 2013, he has collaborated with the Surgut Philharmonic. He organizes film screenings and discussions, and also meets with contemporary Russian writers. His guests have included Tatyana Tolstaya, Maya Kucherskaya, Andrei Dmitriev, Yevgeny Vodolazkin, and many other authors. Thanks to Klein, events in Surgut are being revived where visitors can talk about culture and creativity.
