Leslye Walton

Leslye Walton was born in the northwestern United States, near the Pacific Ocean. According to the author, she has retained a lifelong love of rain and cold winds from that place. Her debut novel, The Strange and Beautiful Life of Ava Lavender, which brought her worldwide fame, was inspired by a prolonged and powerful storm. Leslye now lives in Seattle, Washington, where she works as a middle school teacher, teaching children to read, write, and, most importantly, “to be kind to each other, even when they absolutely do not feel like it.” By her own admission, she spends most of her time in her own imaginary world, which is much better than reality. Perhaps that is why she finds it easier to write by moonlight; in her everyday life, she is accompanied only by a dog named Mr. Darcy and a cat named Griff, and her friends are the kindest and most patient people.
