Laura Hankin

Laura Hankin is an American writer and performer. Her articles and stories have appeared in such publications as McSweeney’s and HuffPost. She is also actively involved in songwriting, composes music and lyrics, makes comedy music videos, and performs both solo and as part of the duo Feminarchy.

In addition, Laura has acted in films; she can be seen in While We’re Young (2014), has performed in plays and musicals, sung with Karen O, and has many times appeared before large audiences of children. After many years living in New York, she moved to Washington, D.C.

At present, Laura is working on her next book about high school seniors who took part in their school’s senior musical in the early 2000s, which blew up on television. Twelve years later, they return to where it all began. In addition, Laura is writing a screenplay for a television series based on her second novel. In her free time, she enjoys watching romantic comedies from the 1990s.
