Maksim Semelyak
Music critic, editor, journalist.
Born in Moscow. From 1991 to 1997, he studied in the Philology Department of Moscow State University. Since 1985, he listened to Soviet music, and in 1989 switched to Western music, in the study of which he achieved certain heights. He does not know a single classical work, has a very vague idea of jazz, and does not read music. Under the influence of circumstances, he began writing prose texts on various (mainly music-related) topics and publishing in: Moskovsky Obozrevatel, OM, Internet, Darin, Restorannye Vedomosti, Vechernyaya Moskva magazine, and Russky Telegraf.
He worked as a music critic at Afisha for about seven years.
