Marianna Kurtto

Marianne Kurttio was born in 1980 in Finland. She graduated from the University of Helsinki, where she studied English philology, film studies, and philosophy. She studied creative writing at the Criticism Academy.

She is the author of five collections of poetry, two of which were awarded the prestigious literary prizes Tiiliskivi and Kalevi Jäntti. In addition to her creative work, she translates literary works and scholarly texts from English into Finnish. Tristania is her debut novel.
