Marina Taranenko

Born in Krasnodar in 1978. In 2000, she graduated from Kuban State University, Faculty of History, Sociology and International Relations. She works at the State Archive of the Krasnodar Territory. Since 2010, she has been a member of the International Creative Association of Children’s Authors and the Association of Children’s and Youth Writers of Russia. In 2011, she became a silver laureate of the National Literary Prize “Golden Pen of Rus’” in the category of poetry for children; in 2012, she was a laureate of the international competition of children’s poets “From 7 to 12”; in 2014, she was awarded a diploma of first-degree laureate of the IV All-Russian festival-competition “Crystal Spring,” became the winner of the “New Fairy Tales 2014” competition, and a gold laureate of the National Literary Prize “Golden Pen of Rus’.” In 2014, she joined the Union of Writers of Russia. In 2014, she took part in a seminar for young writers writing for children and in a forum of young writers, following which she was recommended for a state scholarship from the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
