Mishel Kharrison
She was born and raised in Grays, Essex. Thanks to her older sisters, she loved making up stories from childhood. By the age of 14, she was already writing short stories, and by the time she finished school, she had firmly decided to become a writer and illustrator. At 19, she moved to Stratford to study illustration. The first few chapters of “13 Treasures” were written during her first year at college, but the book was not finished until Michelle began working on it in earnest. Before the book was published, she received many rejection letters. After graduating from college, she worked as a cafeteria assistant, in an art gallery, and as a bookseller. Most recently, she worked as an editorial assistant for a children’s publisher. Michelle is now fully devoted to working on new books and lives in Oxfordshire. She has a son, Jack, and two cats, Pepper and Marmite.
