Myuravek Lea

Lea Muraviek was born in France in 1994. In 2015, she graduated from the Éstienne School in Paris, where she studied graphic design and became seriously interested in typography. After receiving her higher education, she lived in Shanghai for some time. This became a truly unforgettable experience for her, a devoted manga fan. After returning to France, Lea continued to develop her skills in the profession: she studied at the European School of Visual Arts in Angoulême, where she focused on comics. As her graduation project, the artist created the digital comic Endurancee with several possible plot developments, consisting of more than six hundred images on six panels, which she placed on a seven-meter wall. Since 2013, she has been an author and editor at the small comics publishing house Flutist, which grew out of a fan magazine. The Great Void is her debut graphic novel, which was awarded the Fauve Prix du Public France Télévisions in 2022 at the Angoulême International Comics Festival, and also received an honorable mention at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in the same year in the “Comics — YA” category. She is a member of the Angoulême collective Marsam, which brings together comics creators living in this French city or having a special connection with it.
