Oleksandr Mikhed

Alexander Mikhed is a cultural scholar, literary critic, and curator of art projects.

Born in 1988. Graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. He works at the T. H. Shevchenko Institute of Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Author of numerous publications in leading Ukrainian media outlets (from Zerkalo Nedeli and Korrespondent to Ukrainsky Tyzhden and Suchasnist) and in publications in Germany, Serbia, Poland, and the Czech Republic. Selected essays have been translated into English, Polish, Serbian, and Russian. Book reviewer, literary critic, postgraduate student at the T. Shevchenko Institute of Literature of the NASU. Guide at the PinchukArtCentre contemporary art center. He has published reviews, critical articles, and essays in the newspapers 15 Minutes, Zerkalo Nedeli, and Literaturna Ukraina; on the websites www.korrespondent.net and www.litakcent.com; in the magazines Korrespondent, Novynar, Courier of Kryvbas, Suchasnist, Berezil, Dnipro, Kalmius, Kyivska Rus, and Ukrainian Journal (Prague); and in scholarly publications in Germany. Fragments of his first work of fiction were published in Courier of Kryvbas (November–December 2009).

Curator of “Amnesia project: open platform,” a literary-artistic multimedia project based on the fiction book Amnesia, published in 2013 by Elektroknyha. Excerpts from the book have been translated into English, German, and Polish. The project was included among the seven best projects in the world according to the SOUNDOUT festival (Berlin).

Author of the short story collection Ponticism, published in 2014 by Kalvariya Publishing House. The stories were published in Courier of Kryvbas and on the website Ukrainska Pravda. Life.
