Simone Lappert
Simone Lappert is a Swiss writer and poet. She is the niece and goddaughter of the Swiss writer Rolf Lappert.
She was born in 1985 in Aarau, Switzerland, where she currently lives and works.
She studied creative writing at the Swiss Literature Institute in Biel.
Lappert first became known as a poet. Her poems have been recognized with literary prizes. She currently heads the International Poetry Festival in Basel and is one of the Swiss curators of the international poetry project Balbelsprech.International.
In 2014, Simone Lappert tried her hand at prose: her debut novel, Shadow Conjurers, was shortlisted for the Aspekte Literature Prize, which is awarded annually for the best debut novel in German.
