Viktor Melamed
Designer, illustrator, teacher. Lives and works in Moscow. Viktor has been working in illustration since 1997. He has drawn for more than 20 publications, including The New Yorker. From 2005 to 2014, he illustrated the monthly “Hall of Fame” column in the Russian edition of Rolling Stone, devoted to the best albums in the history of popular music. At different times, he has worked in advertising, book covers, murals, wooden sculpture, and animation. In 2009, he became the first person in Russia to work professionally in scribing. Since 2006, he has been teaching his own illustration course at the British Higher School of Art and Design and conducting intensive workshops. He has led master classes in St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Kyiv, Tashkent, and other cities.
