Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov (Lenin) was a Russian and Soviet political and state figure of world significance, a revolutionary, the creator of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party (Bolsheviks), one of the organizers and leaders of the October Revolution of 1917 in Russia, Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars (the government) of the RSFSR, and the creator of the first socialist state in world history. A Marxist, publicist, founder of Marxism-Leninism, ideologist and creator of the Third (Communist) International, and founder of the Soviet state. The main field of his political and journalistic works was the theory and practice of carrying out socialist revolution, building socialism and communism, and the political economy of socialism.
