Yan Mortimer
Ian Mortimer is a British historian and writer specializing in the study of medieval history.
He was born in the town of Petts Wood, in Kent. He studied at several universities and received his Doctor of Philosophy degree in 2004 at Exeter. Mortimer is the author of both strictly historical books, albeit written in a popular style, and, since 2011, historical detective novels containing fictional elements; he also writes poetry and songs. He currently lives on the northeastern edge of Dartmoor (Devon) with his wife Sophie and three children.
Mortimer’s best-known book is The Time Traveller’s Guides to Medieval England, a 2010 bestseller.
