Zhil Pari
Gilles Paris is a French writer and journalist.
From the age of eighteen, he worked as a librarian. He later became a journalist, writing articles about film and music for the popular press. He then worked as a press attaché at a publishing house.
Gilles Paris’s first novel, Papa et maman sont morts (1991), was adapted for the cinema, and his next novel, Autobiographie d'une courgette (Autobiography of a Courgette), was written in 2002, translated into several languages, and sold more than 150,000 copies. Autobiography of a Courgette is well known in France: it has been adapted for the screen twice, once as a television film and once as an animated feature. Gilles Paris is often asked the countless question: “Is Courgette you?” He always replies: “Courgette is each of us. At least a little.”
