Frédéric Peters is a renowned Swiss illustrator and comic book artist. He has written over 20 books and won several awards at the Angelhem International Comics Festival. In his graphic novel 'Blue Pills,' he tells his own love story and explores a topic that is not usually discussed: the serious illness of a loved one. His girlfriend and her young child have been diagnosed with HIV, the dreaded human immunodeficiency virus that leads to AIDS. Every day, the child must swallow small blue pills to fight the disease. With talent and humor, Frederic Peters describes the daily lives of all three, from doubts and glimmers of hope to moments of complete happiness.

First published in 2001, the book continues to be reprinted in the author's home country and has already been translated into a dozen languages. And in 2014, the Franco-German television channel Arte made a film adaptation of it.
