First grade is ending, and tomorrow is summer break. Ahead of Taya is a whole summer in the village, with her grandfather's handicrafts and her grandmother's pies, with old and new friends, the mystery of an abandoned house, a detective investigation, a difficult choice, and her first real heartbreak. She also has to figure out what this royal business is and how to carry it out, and that, too, is not easy. And although no problem solves itself, Taya will realize that she has the power to overcome it.
