Joanna Stingray is an American singer, producer, and longtime friend of Russian rock musicians. By a twist of fate, Joanna found herself in the thick of the Soviet rock underground in the mid-80s, and her perspective is an insider's perspective, the perspective of not only a witness, but also a direct participant in many events destined to become history.
Joanna dedicated this album to the 70th birthday of Boris Grebenshchikov, the godfather of Russian rock. The book includes previously unpublished interviews with Boris Grebenshchikov, as well as more than 550 rare photographs from Joanna's archive, from the mid-80s to the present day: rehearsals, concerts, tours, rock parties, family photos, album covers, and BG's paintings.
