Yanka Mavr, who primarily wrote for young readers, can be considered the founder of the adventure genre in Belarusian literature. Mavr's most popular story, 'The Polesie Robinsons,' is written in the best traditions of the novels of Jules Verne and Daniel Defoe. The book also includes the story 'The Son of Water.'
