Waiting for Robert Capa (V Ozhidanii Roberta Kapy)

This book tells the story of the love and creative partnership of legendary war photojournalists Robert Capa and Gerda Taro. They met in 1935 in Paris, where she had fled from Germany and he from Hungary. Back then, they were Endre Friedman and Gerta Pohorylle. Changing their names and taking their cameras, they set off for Spain to cover the civil war raging there. Young and beautiful, bold anti-fascists and reckless nonconformists, they became the most famous photojournalists of their time. Sometimes, the lengths they went to for a powerful, truthful photograph or in the name of love were akin to madness. They created their own legend and remained true to it to the end.
