An accident forever deprives Ulyana of her family, home, and friends. Now she wanders through communal apartments in the Moscow region, spends her evenings in commuter train cars, and suffers from loneliness. She has no future, but she has a terrible gift: she can see death in the eyes of anyone she encounters. Is this a curse or a disease? There is no answer. There is only the smell of wormwood and visions that drive her mad. To escape them, Ulyana is willing to do anything, even engage in a dangerous game of survival.
