The collection 'How to Become Eisenstein: A Short Course' for the first time includes both fundamental teaching programs for the theory and practice of directing, compiled by Sergei Eisenstein in the 1930s and published in Iskusstvo Kino magazine issues No. 5–6, 7, and 9 of 1933 (then called Sovetskoye Kino) and No. 4 of 1936, along with explanatory notes.

Additionally, the collection includes a reprint of Vladimir Nizhny's book 'In Eisenstein's Directing Classes' (1957), which illustrates and clarifies these programs and Eisenstein's 'method of directing practicum.' The book is intended for students of film schools and anyone interested in the theory and practice of cinema.
