A collection of dramatic texts is always an opportunity to summarize the author's creative journey. These days, such occasions have become more frequent, and not all of them are joyful. At the time of the publication of this collection, playwright Svetlana Petriychuk is under investigation in one of the most absurd trials of our time—the so-called 'new theater case.' Svetlana and director Zhenya Berkovich are accused of justifying terrorism for staging the play 'Finist the Bright Falcon.'
The play 'Tuaregs,' which gives the collection its title, is Svetlana Petriychuk's signature work. The play utilizes the technique of combining the incompatible. The lives of women who rebelled against the male state in the village of Otrub are intertwined with the legends and tales of the Tuareg tribe, who in ancient times came to the idea of matriarchy.
