Dzhordzhiya Bing

Georgia Mary Caroline Bing is a well-known children’s writer, the eldest daughter and second child of the 8th Earl of Strafford and his first wife, Jennifer May. Despite her aristocratic title, she is the author of children’s books and a former actress. Georgia Bing grew up near the town of Winchester in England, on an estate not far from the River Itchen, together with three naughty brothers and a sister. As a child, she loved performing on stage and by the age of eighteen entered London’s Central School of Speech and Drama. After college, she took up painting and literary work. Before that, she wrote poems and songs for herself. Now she began writing various stories. Her first book was the graphic story The Sock Monsters for children aged 5–7, which took her a full five years to create. The book was published in 1995. This coincided with a turning point in her life — she divorced her first husband, Daniel Chadwick, whom she had married in 1990. From that marriage, she has a daughter, Tiger Rose. She became best known for the series of books about the adventures of Molly Moon — a girl who finds a book about hypnosis and learns how to hypnotize people. Georgia Bing is now becoming a best-selling children’s author. Her first Molly Moon book has been translated into 22 languages and published in 35 countries around the world: the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Denmark, Norway, the Czech Republic, Poland, and others, as well as in the United States and Canada… She now lives with her second husband, the artist Mark Quinn, and their three children (their second marriage produced the sons Sky and Lucas) in a house in London filled with works of old and new art.
