Ulrich Hub
Actor, director, and playwright (Germany). After graduating from the acting department of the Hamburg Conservatory, he worked as an actor in theaters in Giessen and Darmstadt. Hub wrote the play At Eight on the Ark in 2006, when one German publishing house proposed that five theaters create productions for children on the theme of “Religion.” He reread the Bible, and the story of Noah’s Ark prompted him to offer a witty reflection on serious subjects. In 2006, this play by Ulrich Hub was recognized as the best in Germany. In the same year, a radio play, At Eight on the Ark, was created, and in 2008 a book based on the play was published; both were also awarded various prizes. The play has been translated into French and Dutch. In Russian, the play At Eight on the Ark was translated by Ekaterina Gorokhovskaya and Johann Bott.
