Viland Rayk
Raik Wieland is a German satirist, literary editor, and cultural commentator. He was born in 1965 in Leipzig. After finishing school, he trained as an electrician and then took up philosophy. He worked as an editor in print media, radio, and television.
At various times, he has contributed to newspapers and magazines such as taz, Konkret, junge Welt, Jungle World, Frankfurter Rundschau, and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
From 1998 to 2009, together with writer Gerhard Henschel, he organized the Toten Salon at the Hamburg Literature House.
In addition to his literary work, he writes articles for the Frankfurt satirical magazine Titanic and produces television reports for the programme TTT (Titel Thesen Temperamente), broadcast on Das Erste.
He lives alternately in Leipzig and Mecklenburg.
