'The book 'Market' wasn't created as a set of illustrations for a finished text; on the contrary, the drawings appeared first, and then the discussion of the accompanying text began. According to Evenbach's recollections, L. Klyachko, editor-in-chief of 'Raduga,' upon seeing her work, exclaimed: 'A rare occurrence. Ready-made drawings have been brought to a non-existent text.' And then he added: 'We'll find you a writer.' That writer turned out to be Yevgeny Schwartz (1896–1958), a young, promising writer. [...] The book 'Market' spoke to the reader in a striking, poster-like language. The artist's favorite color scheme—red, blue, yellow—did not appear in this book by chance. Evenbach, one of K. Petrov-Vodkin's favorite students, proved to be her teacher's heir, a translator of his theories of the 'three-color system' and 'spherical perspective.'' (Ildar Galeyev).
