Poetics. Rhetoric (Poetika Ritorika)

The great ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle stands at the origins of modern science. Tutor to Alexander the Great, author of the first systematic treatises, and a meticulous explorer of the universe, Aristotle laid the foundation for such disciplines as Logic, Metaphysics, Ethics, Physics, and others, including the theory of poetry and prose. The language of his philosophy is very simple and concrete. His treatise 'Poetics' expresses Aristotle's theory of poetry, while his treatise 'Rhetoric' expresses his theory of fiction. Both of these famous treatises had a profound influence on the development of literary theory.
