Alexander Isaevich Solzhenitsyn was a prominent Russian writer, journalist, and public figure. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature ('For the moral strength with which he continued the traditions of great Russian literature,' 1970), received the Russian Federation State Prize for outstanding achievements in the humanities (2006), and was a full member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He was considered 'the conscience of Russia.' His first work, the short story 'One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich,' published in Novy Mir in 1962, brought him worldwide fame. He later published the stories 'Matryona's House,' 'An Incident at Kochetovka Station,' 'For the Good of the Cause,' and 'Zakhar-Kalita.' This was the end of his publications. Not a single line of Solzhenitsyn's work was published in the USSR; his works were published in samizdat and abroad. This edition presents the works he created in the 1990s. Readers of the collection of Short Stories and Little Stories will be able to become acquainted with the late work of A. I. Solzhenitsyn, and experience and reflect with the writer who shared the harsh fate of Russia in the 20th century.
