Britt-Marie can't stand disorder. She always eats dinner at six in the evening, because that's when decent people dine, and she gets up at six in the morning, because only crazy people get up later. And she's not passive-aggressive, no, not in the slightest. It's just that people sometimes interpret her well-meaning remarks as criticism, but she means nothing of the sort.
But one day, Britt-Marie's world begins to crack, and she decides to change everything. Leaving her husband after forty years of marriage, Britt-Marie moves to Borg, a tiny roadside village slowly dying under the weight of the financial crisis, to work at the local youth center. Unexpectedly for herself, Britt-Marie, a champion of perfect cleanliness, makes friends with a rat - and becomes the coach of the local football team (although she hates football almost more than she hates disorder).
Having taken on the care of the boys and girls of Borg, Britt-Marie involuntarily delves into all the intricacies of village life. Will she finally find her place in a world of eccentrics thrown to the side of the road?..

The author was born in 1981 in the city of Helsingborg in the south of Sweden. He studied the history of religion at university, but dropped out, becoming a long-distance truck driver instead of a religious scholar. At the same time, he began writing for local newspapers and blogging on their websites. A character named Ove was born and 'lived' for some time in Backman's blog - until more than a thousand readers voted for him to become the hero of the book. In 2012, Backman published the novel A Man Called Ove and woke up famous.
The second book, 'Grandma Said to Say Goodbye and Forgive Me,' became a bestseller in the United States, Germany, Norway, Iceland, South Korea, and Japan. Nearly two million copies of this novel have already been sold worldwide.
Fredrik Backman's third novel, an international bestseller, is a touching and uplifting story about love and second chances, as well as the unexpected friendships that help us see ourselves from the outside—and realize what we are truly capable of.
