Yulia Nikitina was born in Salekhard, studied in Tyumen, completed her studies in St. Petersburg, and traveled extensively—and continues to travel, working on the road. This relentless movement and search for her own path formed the basis of her graphic novel, 'Midnight Land.' The world of small northern towns, parting with childhood and home and entering adulthood, loneliness and a sense of community with other people, mastering a chosen business and the struggle for the right to do this business - including the struggle with oneself, one's insecurity and doubt - the author reveals all these topics subtly and expressively, demonstrating high skill as a storyteller and artist.
