In the eyes of most, North Korea is a country that produces no good news: people are executed for insincere tears at the funerals of leaders, entire families are exiled, they develop an atomic bomb and threaten the entire world with it. 'Traitor in North Korea' is a rare attempt to navigate between ideological poles and tell the truth about life in the 'most closed country' with humor and love for ordinary people.
Norwegian artist and director Morten Traavik has visited the DPRK more than twenty times and not only witnessed key moments in North Korean history (such as nuclear weapons testing) but also made his own contribution. He organized the first concert of a Western rock band (Laibach) in the DPRK and brought contemporary artists to Pyongyang.
'Traitor in North Korea' presents a unique view of a unique state—as the most grandiose spectacle on the planet.
