Spring arrives, and the bees feel cramped in their old hive. They leave their old home, gather in a swarm, and set off on a journey through a blooming meadow and orchard, flying over a field and pond, meeting fellow birds, insects, and reptiles. The search for a new swarm site ends happily: the plants where the bees settled remain pollinated and will soon bear fruit; the resourceful beekeeper manages to settle their bees in the new hive, and soon they will harvest sweet honey from it.
The new illustrated encyclopedia for preschoolers from the 'One Thousand and One' series introduces children to the structure of a bee swarm and the role of these insects in the plant life cycle. Artist and author Joanna Zhezak captures the springtime flora, fruit blossoms, and inhabitants of fields and gardens to create a picture of nature's endless diversity that begs to be explored endlessly.
The book was prepared for publication in collaboration with the Moscow Zoo.
